Honoring the memory of Brandenn Bremmer

I know i haven't written in a while and that is because my parents are away for about four days and im just been trying to enjoy it while it lasts.

A few days ago i was scrolling on reddit when i discovered a post about a boy named Brandenn Bremmer. He was a kid that had one of the highest iqs in the world for his age. He graduated highschool at ten, participated in every extra curricular under the sun, and was considered by the world to be a child prodigy.. Sadly, at the age of 14, he took his life. All of the adults around him couldn't believe something like this could happen, "How could a boy this smart ever think about doing this?", "His life was soooo great, how could this be true?".

This is always the case when it comes to boys like Brandenn, all the world sees is his accomplishments and they act like he owns them more out of him, that he shouldn't waste his gift and spend his life working away to help other. They never once cared what he wanted out of life only he keep pleasing them. All they can think about is how this kid is going to be the next Einstein or Shakespear. This isn't the fucking victorian age where people reinvent the wheel. Parents dont have to force a kid to do something in order to force them to do it. Conditionalising that love to only be expressed when that kid is extra ordinary is more than enough to put a gun to the back of their head to get them to do what you want.

People mourn the death of this genius kid who they never knew when, unknown to them, he died long before he took his own life, but rather when they took his life from him by appointing him to be a "hero" for society instead of having the dignity of giving him is own free will. Fuck you, you are all selfish!

The reason i am so invested in this story is because it draws a large ammount of parallels to my childhood, I too was a lot more academic than most kids, and my parents quickly took note of this by encouraging me to teach myself technology topics such as programming, the internet, and anything else relating to computers. This is because my parents only took note of me if i did something amazing such as coding something on my computer that impressed them, so it was all i cared about, impressing people. However, what i can to realize is that even if you show of a cool coding project to some kids at lunch, they can think its the coolest thing ever but they would rather die than to let you sit with them. You are a tool to them. And thats all Brandenn was, a tool for people to use. Eventually i learned it isnt my lifes purpose to please others but rather to do what i want with it.

Brandenn's motivations for everything he did was no doubt his parents, they relentlessly pushed him to higher and higher peaks and didnt take no for an answer. But there is one detail i left out from the top and that is that his parents were found to be mentally insane. They believe that Brandenn was an angel sent down from god, the reason he has an extra n in his name is because he accidentally pressed it twice when typing his name as a kid and his parents thought it was his all knowning intelligence so they legally changed his name to Brandenn. In press releases, they state that he killed himself to donate his organs to those in need. We know from leaked texts between him and his girlfriend that this is not the case.

While my parents may not be (100%)delusional, i dont think i relate to anyone more than Brandenn. Rest easy brother.
